We're working to improve the infrastructure in our borough and have reinstituted a roads program to begin milling and paving of roads identified as being in the greatest need in the borough. However, we are also working to repair potholes wherever possible but need your assistance.

DO-it is comprised of numerous services that help residents get things done. We've simplified way residents to report issues, concerns, or problems that one might experience in the borough, including reporting of potholes. Residents can also utilize CALL-it, if they'd rather leave a phone message to report non-emergency concerns.

While we would like to eventually make REPORT-it a one-stop-shop for all issues that may arise, because our borough has county roads, and neighbors some state highways, issues on such roads must be reported via a separate service. We're working towards a better solution for this, but felt it more important to provide this solution in the meantime.

In case you need some guidance, the following roads in South River are County Roads:

  • Main Street
  • Jackson Street
  • Whitehead Avenue
  • Old Bridge Turnpike
  • Causeway Street
  • Prospect Street
  • Reid Street
  • Water Street (from Main Street to Causeway Street)
  • Hillside Avenue (from Main Street to Old Bridge Turnpike)

(There are no State Roads in South River, but we provide the state service, in case you have an issue to report on Route 18 or other neighboring state roads.)

This service is brought to you in coordination between the County, the State DOT, the Public Safety Committee, Finance Committee, and Communications Committee.
